(Home) Best rear fog-lights to buy

Bought my masterace surf 6 months ago. It had been through one MOT when it first came to the uk a year or so ago, and now I just took it for it`s 2nd. God knows how it got through it`s first MOT as it doesn`t have any rear fog lights.

So, after trawling the messages there seems to be a debate on the best placement, but does anyone have any opinions about the best lamps to get which don`t cost the earth... and where to get them from.

Firstly, may I say that your story about the MOT doesn't surprise me as I had exactly the same thing happen to me with my Liteace! It's always best for anyone else reading this who are thinking of buying an 'ace to make sure one is fitted (and side-repeaters for Estimas). This helps to ensure that they have an SVA (Single Vehicle Approval - like kit-cars). I would just put it down down to inconsistancies between MOT centres.
Where to get a fog light? Well I would say any local motoring accessory shop would do them. Less than a tenner I would think. Not too sure if BBC Spares do them or not, but I suppose it's worth a try. HTH. Alan.

The importer fitted one hanging under the bumper and I wasn't surprised when it broke off.
One type readily available for under £5 is about 100mm wide, 80mm high and fits very neatly on the flat section of the rear wing just above the bumper.

Rear tailgate ones have to be wired in, using the existing brake light wiring, and running a lead to the front fog switch. Rear fog lights are not a requirement in Japan
