i have a 1986 toyota tarago 4wd, 2.2lt efi 4yc motor.
sometimes it just stops....no spark to motor. i would like to know which of the 2 items gets power to it first...the spark igniter or the electronic points in the distributor.....from here i can isolate the problem....

Can't anwer your question but have you wiggled the main HT lead - I've had this prob on a couple of vehicles (broken HT core)
