Laurence,
I did my 2CT last week. I assume yours is a diesel !
Strip down and rebuild - about a day each way.
From mempory it was :-
Drivers seat off, disassemble auto box cover, handbrake cable, electrical connectors and floor cover out.
Remove timing cover and set engine on timing marks.
Slacken alternater, remove fan blades and pulley and remove belts to one side.
Slacken timing belt pulley and remove timing belt off the cam pulley.
Remove air filter inlet pipe.
Remove turbo pipework from over the engine - that means disassembly of the vacuum unit on the inlet side of the engine - remember where your vacuum pipes go.
Remove glow plug connections to inlet manifold.
Remove electrical connection to the head under the inlet manifold.
Disconnect accelerater cable and vacuum pipes from the alternater.
Disconnect injector pipes from the pump and the injectors. mark them 1-4 for easy refit.
Remove glow plug bars between the cylinders.
The most difficult bolt to remove is the Dipstick retaining bolt under the inlet manifold. I actually just widened the clip with a screwdriver and then manipulated the head free over the pipe end.
Disconnect the exhaust outlet pipe from the manifold. You may need to slacken the inlet pipe to the turbo to get easier access to the back bolts.
Remove rocker cover.
Remove cooling system top hose and housing on the exhaust side wher it connects to the cylinder head.
Remove all bolts from head and thats it AFAIK.
The gasket is bought seperately from the rest of the "Head Gasket" set. Because the thickness is dependant on whether the head has been previously skimmed.
I would suggest if your careful the only gasket you need is the head gasket - I suspect all others could be reused.
I did not replace all the head bolts with new ones.
Tools - sockets and spanners 10 - 19mm, screwdriver and pliers.
I hope that covered everything.
Good luck.
