(Home) Headlight bulb needs replacing help

I need to change the bulb for the front right headlight on my Toyota Townace and I'm not sure how to do it. I've tried to do it from the back but can't seem to work out how it goes, can someone help me please?

The sequence should be available in the archives Paula but failing that, the easy way is from the access panels that are to be found in each footwell. Remove them and you can get to the headlamp bulb.

The hard way (this is for the CR30 model) is to first remove the sidelight cover by removing the crosshead screw then persuading the assembly out by beating it mercilessly in a forward direction to move it off the guiding spigot. This will expose two 10mm bolts which hold the headlight assembly in place. My memory fails me for the next bit. They either pull off locating lugs or you have to remove the centre fog light assembly first by removing the 3 long cross-head screws then pulling it down and out. This exposes two further bolts (I think) then the headlamp assembly falls out.

Obviously easier by the first method. The good thing to note is that the 55w halogen bulbs are pretty standard and available from any car spares.

Ian is correct, remove sidelamp unit with cross head screw, remove centre foglamp unit with three cross head screws, then remove headlamp with the four 10mm headed bolts, refitting is the reverse of removal, as the Haynes manuals always say! I always use this method of access, as the plates in the bulkhead are a pain in the ass to fit & remove, especially the pasenger side one. Just whip out the headlamp, five minute job once you've done it once.

Regards Rob.
