(Home) Idle up

I have found the cause of my idle up switches apparant failure was due to the actuating arm not travelling far enough to operate the injector pump. I adjusted the travel by slackening the locknut on the rear of the unit and turning the sloted screwed rod out until there was enough travel to operate the pump and increase revs. Is this the correct way to adjust the actuator, and what should the revs be set to? I have mine at 1000rpm.

Tickover should be 800rpm

(Getting back to the subject - slightly) After having the Timing belt replaced on my Liteace, it has now got a habit of juddering when in drive and my foot on the brake. Fortunately, this is only when the engine is still cold.
Would I need to check the idle adjustment?
