Hi

Have a bit of a problem with my townace. Somehow it is leaking water I think there is a bust pipe somewhere, anyway, it ran dry the other day, engine overheated and some smoke appeared from the engine into the cabin. Also the oil light has been coming on periodically, but there seems to be plently of oil there. After refilling the coolant and putting a bit of oil in, I attempted to start the engine, took a few turnovers but it worked, but the smoke still billowed out. turned it off for a couple of minutes, then tried again, seemed like something kicked in and no more smoke came out, coolant still leaking though. Any ideas on what the smoke was, and why my oil light keeps coming on? Am I being a bit thick? Cheers.

Diesel or petrol?
Did the smoke have a strong smell, i.e burning oil/fuel or was it steam?
Smoking exhaust (blueish)?

Its a diesel, and it did smell as if there was something burning, definitely wasnt steam.

A reply would be much appreciated.

So now we have to choose between Diesel or oil leak and it burning off on hot engine/exhaust.
When you restarted smoke came out of where?
Which oil light orange or red?
Have you used it since any problems?
