(Home) Bio diesel

In my previous thread there was a mention of running a Townie on Biodiesel.
I already know about the benefits of using it (Good for the engine as well as finantial(!)), but does anyone here produce their own? How successful have they been doing so?

Al,
I produce my own, and so far very successful.

I use chinese take away and some chip shop used oil, filter and treat it, and about 6-7 weeks later pay the tax and it's ready to use. I even pay the chinese for the oil as it is often very clean, and saves some effort in filtering.

email me direct if you want to know more, or if you are in/near Bristol and want to come see let me know.

Clive

Al, I found a good site on Biodiesel www.veggievan.org where you can download a hand book.

veggievan.org That little Chestnut! Yes, I know about this particular site. You might even find some of my postings on the Forum there. It seems that the "Biodieselers" over in the states have got their act together! If only it was more widely available over here.
