(Home) Internal or external regulator

Hi Guys.

can i tell by looking behind my glove box if i have an internal or external regulator,i understand that to adjust voltage you need to bend regulator adjustment arm and in this unit you will also find the relay adjusting arm,any information please.

Suspect external, and yes behind the glove box.
If internal it's behind the alternator.

Clive, I don't suppose you remember how the connector connects, do you ? I am feeling around behind the fascia and so I can't actually see the connector, I can only feel it. I don't want to just keep pulling at it, in case there is a bit you have to push in to release it. Does you see what I mean ?

Right - done it. There is a little clip, if you squeeze the female half of the connector attached to the car, then pull, it comes off. Mine is knackered, the next step is to locate another.....

i pulled the glove box down and had a good look but did not see any thing that looks like it,if it not there then it behind the alternator ? meaning directly fixed to it or somewhere behind it ? and to get to alternator then must the drivers floor got to come out or can you get to it from under the van.

It took me a bit to find it, it was up at the top left, behind the speaker grille really. But that is assuming you have an '84 model F spacecruiser like me...good luck
