(Home) Hiace radio space

I am going to replace the jap radio in my hiace with a uk radio/cd but the jap radio is actually two units and so if I fit a normal uk radio I will be left with a hole in the dash for another radio! Not sure if the townaces have the same problem - but does anyone have any good ideas how to utilise this space - otherwise I will just have to fit a flat piece of black plastic.

My Litie started out with a DIN sized head unit, with a small DIN sized cubbyhole fitted underneath. So I suppose you could find one of those on the second-hand market.

You can get double DIN size units, otherwise try a breakers for the cubby hole, or get a blanking plate.

I got rid of my jap units and got a cubbyhole put in above the cd/radio. I wanted the cd/radio in the top and the cubby underneath but the guy couldn`t do it, and he was an experienced pro... so you`ll probably have a cubby-hole on top of the cd/radio as well.

By the way can thoroughly recommend the Panasonic mp3/cd player... cheaper and better than the Kenwood (I have both)... the Pana is MUCH easier to use while driving, and is only £100.
