I have a Masterace Surf 1991! I have had the aircon topped up serveral times and it works fine for about 6-8 weeks and then dies. I have found a viscous brown oily deposit around the top cover of the cool/hot box and suspect a leak. Can anyone tel me how to remove the unit and if it is possible to either repair the unit or bypass it so that I can at least have aircon.

Next time you regas, get them to disconnect and blank of the hot/cold box. Joints are underneath. The box can still be used as a hot or cool box from then on.
