Have you determined if there is a leak (rad, pipes for example)? Are you throwing out loads of white smoke (steam) from the back which would indicate the head gasket. Any oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil?

Have a read through the archives on cooling. Much that applies to Townaces apply to the SpaceCruiser.

Haynes never did a manual for the SpaceCruiser and Toyota manuals are out of print. Best bet is the tarago manual from down-under. Again full details on AceAnswers.

my wifes model f was doing the samething on hers the y shape heater splitter to the left of the overflow was leaking .does it loose water with the heater off?

the water pipes are easy to follow check each one

also i recommend flushing the whole water system and replacing the rad cap

my wife isnt very mechanical minded and did it all herself

Does the expansion tank overflow, does it bubble away once you stop? Is there a puddle by the passenger wheel? If no then I would look for a leak. Get the rad pressure tested. Are you re-filling with antifreeze mix?
Get it up to running temp in the dark, and have a good look round with a torch, I have found many otherwise missed leak this way. I suspect yours will be obvious.
If no leak, and the rad and cap check out ok, flush and slowly refill with antifreeze mix. Any water loss after that with no leaks points to the head gasket.
Best of luck.

Hi Don.
My wife's spacecruiser would do exactly the same, only difference was that when we came back from going out we would hear water bubbling in expansion bottle,we cured this by totally emptying the system and then re-filling very slowly,as to avoid airlock, which we found was the cause of ours,we also had water escaping from expansion bottle many times, again this was cured by draining the system, and very importantly,re-filling very slowly
hope this helps
cheers
