went to view 89 spacecruiser, 20 min test drive was great,body good condition, but there was a bubbling noise when engine was turned off following
test drive, should we buy this at £1200

Bubbling for how long? Any overflow to the passenger side underneath? Maybe just air escaping from a refill? You need to have an other test drive and see what happens. First check when the engine is cold levels in the filler and the overflow are correct.
£1200 I think is a little high, raise your concerns and see if the price drops, after the next test drive.
Engine parts easy to get for the Spacecruiser. Is it a dealer if so get them to cover it for six months parts and labour.

like a pan of boiling water went on for a few minutes untill i left seller said he had a friend work on the radiator could it be that? your attention welcome regards

Right here we go...
Could be blocked/leaking radiator, heater matrix, hose, thermostat duff/missing, no/weak antifreeze, wrong/miss fitted rad cap, water pump not pumping, air lock in system if refilled after rad work, the return pipe missing or too soft in the expansion bottle,or worse case head gasket
What was the rad work, did you notice the temp guage at all? If it had been filled recently and not used it may have been an air pocket escaping, a second drive will confirm this. Check for water coming out of the expansion bottle, water out measn none getting back in = overheating. Check the pipe in the expansion bottle it should be stiff and reach the bottom of the tank, if it is soft and or slimey that may be the problem.

hi, just read your thread, just picked up my townie from garage for mot and noticed my temp gauge nearly on red i pulled over and heard similar bubbling as mentioned earlier, my van has been running superbly for 2 years until to day , what do you think the garage has done , if anything .dave
