(Home) Oil filter too big

my garage could not fit a oil filter supplied by bbc spares,they told me it would not fit the thread , i have a 4x4 masterace 1989 2ct and part no on filter is 90915-30001 can anyone look this part number up and tell me if its the right filter

Dennis. Yes, the CD shows this part number to be correct for the 2C engine oil filter, ie from 1988-1991. However, I always use the ADL Blueprint version, part No ADT32110 and these always fit.
Has your garage been too quick to reject this filter? Sometimes, I notice that the male thread, on the filter bracket, will not always "start" in the filter body unless it is lined up exactly.

not sure what was the problem with the fliter bbc spares supplied me with but the garage said the thread from the engine was too small and just pushed into filter,i will store this filter until next oil change and see for myself whats the problem this

the oil filter surplyed by bbc is common on the townaces and is usually expencive,i pay from £16 to £20 for mine.but you are lucky your towny sounds like it takes the smaller threaded filter (although the filters are the same size) try a champion c102 from halfords they are £3.99.
