Hi what is the problem with your central locking I have had mine to pieces a couple of times when I fitted remote locking and know some ideas and where to find the relays but you need to say what is happening (or not!)

I too would like some information about this. The locking on my Masterace Surf began to show a fault by needing several presses at the switch to make it work, and then it stopped altogether. I am at a complete loss, as the wiring is a mystery, and I do not know if the switch has developed a fault, or perhaps the relay. Any advice as to what to test would be appreciated.

i took off the interior panels on the doors, and found everything to be in order.the connectors for the central locking actuators were in need of a clean, and when cleaned and reassembled,it all works, apart from not locking on the key, just on the button, and sliding door c/l not operating due to contact plates not aligning.thanks for your help

Hi Clive Or Dave.
Please could you tell me if it is possible to have the front doors on centra locking as well as side and rear tailgate?, and if so what I need to do it
Please advise,it's for 1989 Model F Spacecruiser 2.0 GL.
Cheers

Well, assuming there isn't a fault and the parts are already there, all you need is a couple of locking motors. A tenner each from Maplin, link'em to the original wiring...

For some reason toyota did not fit CL to front doors on the Spacecruiser. You need the motor, wiring and linkage to the locks. Best idea would be to salvage from a dead Townie. Fixing points for the motor are there.

This is for the second time of asking :-(
The central locking on my Masterace Surf has stopped working. I have poked around the switch with a test meter, and have found the following:
There is no Live at any terminal on the switch.
The switch shows correct continuity between terminals when moved.
Surely there must be live at the centre connections on the switch? - incidentally, why two separate lives? one blue/red, the other blue/black.
There does not appear to be a fuse, at any rate there is none in the main fuse box.
Relays have been mentioned?
Would it hurt anything if I was to supply a live to the centre terminals of the switch?

The wiring harness is traceable through to the inside of the car, then it vanished into the loom under the dashboard.
