Hi Chris
It depends which one is gone, inlet or exhaust?
Guessing it’s the exhaust, it’s a degree of luck that’s needed. The drivers floor needs to come out first to expose that side of the engine. The exhaust manifold has 6 bolts and two studs with nuts on the end. If the studs come off with the nuts, then remove the 6 bolts and slip out the old gasket and slip in the new one. If the nuts come off the studs then you will need to undo some of the exhaust mounting brackets to enable the exhaust to be pulled away from the engine enough to clear the studs. Fit a Toyota metal gasket not a fabric one that are common replacements.

Adding to Dave's excellent advice, try to check the flatness of the manifold mounting face. These cast iron manifolds do warp and this might be the reason for the gasket to blow in the first place. Pulling the manifold down onto the new gasket, could result in some cracks. If a straightedge does reveal any warping, the manifold must be removed and filed flat.
The cambelt change is quite straightforward. The floor pan has to come out anyway to get at the manifold so, with a little more work, the various belts, cambelt belt covers etc can be removed and the belt removed & replaced. The main pulley seems to give some trouble but, various methods and remedies are well documented in Ace Answers. Also, if you have any doubts about this job, the engine manual, part No RMO25E will be one of the best tools you can have. It costs less than a tenner and can be ordered from your local dealer
