(Home) Considering buying a Townace

I have looked at this wonderful site with great interest & am considering buying a Townace,as we have 3 children & love to go for days out & camping.
The thing that fills me with fear is that I know nothing about mechanics & my husband knows less!!
and does not even drive.
Are these vehciles more complicated than a car ?
Could any one tell me what a J-Reg(1991) Luxury Toyota Townace disel Auto with approx 100k in miles, apparently in good condition would approx sell for.I would be very grateful for you guidence!

Yes they are more complicated than a car but if you know nothing about mechanics anyway then what difference does it make? Find yourself a good local garage or mechanic and invest in breakdown insurance and let someone else have the hassle (for your money).

Sorry, I'm a bit out of touch with prices. Check out Autotrader and get a feel for prices and models. Have a look at a few before you buy. Ask questions on here if you want more info.

There's plenty of archive material and background info on AceAnswers (link above) to help you choose. If you do buy one I don't think you will be disappointed - they're great fun for all kinds of occassions.

penny
put auto trader in your favorites and do a search with a price band from 500 to 3000.. check this regular and make some phone calls, look at any locally but do not buy this will give you a feel for what you get for your money . look for something with receipts and few previous owners 2 max. i did this and ended up paying 2000 for an honest g reg 4 wheel drive in nearly perfect condition good luck
