(Home) Townace warning indications

I Have a 1993 2ltr Automatic petrol 4WD Townace. I have taken it all over Europe during the 5 years that I have had it. However, recently I have had the far-right warning symbol appear on the dash. It shows an Oil Can with a wavy line below it. Anybody know what oil level this warning refers to?

I have checked all the usual oil levels and they all appear OK. The warning seems to be genuine in the way that it behaves ie. It appears after a few miles motoring then comes and goes with the movement of the vehicle. Many thanks for any advice,

its the engine oil level.
The light starts to come on when the oil level is halfway down the min/max section of the dipstick.
If your level is actually full then it could be a faulty sensor or time for an oil change.

yep,the can with the wavy line below it is the oil level warning light.if you say that the oil level is ok then you got to consider how old is the engine oil and oil fliter , it could be the sensor , how are you checking the oil level (sounds silly )check it first thing in the morning before you start her up , pull out dip stick wipe it clean and put it back in and pull it out and it will tell you the correct level,on a hot engine let it stand 10/15 mins and do above , always wipe the dip stick first and pull it out a second time.

when you pull the dip stick out the first time it will give you the impression that the level is higher when in fact you are low on oil,so pull it out 2 times

Bob you should have started a new thread as this may have been overlooked tagged onto the end of an earlier one.
Dizzy and coil all in one. The dizzy is prone to getting water in it, once the engine is warm it evaporates and not a problem, until the next cold start.
Engine and body manual for sale on ebay right now.
