Count me in, I'll camp on the stand again, and most likely with two sons this time.
A great weekend, with not enough days to get it all in.
Got to make a board to put my plaque on.
See you there.

- (#9011) Clive (Bristol), 4 Mar 04 15:48

Nice one Paul,
I'll be there with the Hiace - will make sure I get there before everyone starts going home this time!
Looking forward to it - lets hope we have the sunshine as last year....

I have only just got my townace and meeting up with other owners may help settle my nerves of owning one.
Couled you let me know if the woodvale 2004 is the only townace rally each year?
I have looked on multimap and i have a choice of four woodvales is it the one near burton upon trent?
is there a camp/caravan site on location?
is there anything to intrest the kids?
are odd parts of sale

Woodvale is a coastal air base by Southport in Lancashire.
Attractions at the yearly rally include various car club stands, military vehicles, fire engines, model aircraft/car demos, shows for kids, an abundace of stalls and stands of all descriptions selling all kind of things - toys, tools, engineering/motor bits, tents - fairly diverse range of anything really.
The site is massive and down the road is the beach, funfair and town etc.
Some people camped on site, though if you want hook up etc. there are sites dotted around Southport area.
Now I only made the last 2 hours last year which hardly qualifies me to comment - though I was very impressed - seemed plenty for kids and adults alike and I liked the fact that you got a parking space right in the midst of it all.....

- (#9011) chris turner, 5 Mar 04 15:44

Rich,

I'm staging one at Brean just south of weston-Super-Mare in May. Dave Bright has arranged one for Bridport (I think, typed it and now don't look right), for July. These are Toyota MPV only club like get togethers. Woodvale is a Townace stand among hundreds of other stands, the Aces are just parked up and left for the public to view. Some talking goes on but as you can imagine there is so much to see/do you are not likely to want to stay by the Ace all day and talk.

- (#9011) Clive (Bristol), 6 Mar 04 00:11

Hi all.
Bridport is right Clive, its in Dorset on the 1st weekend in July. The only Ace that doesn't really fit is the Renault.

- (#9011) dave Bright (Bournemouth), 6 Mar 04 01:50

i will be there once again

- (#9011) john collier, 6 Mar 04 03:51

hi folks, yes we will be there, as we were last year and the year before, and we are looking forward to getting our third Brass plate lol.

We were wondering if we could meet somewhere else before hand and all arrive in convoy. Early enough to avoid all the queues of lesser non-Ace owning beings.

What does everyone think???

- (#9011) Colin & Karen, 9 Mar 04 09:32

I'll be on site as are some others. Once Paul has the fees in perhaps he can email us and we take it from there?
What about it Paul?

- (#9011) Clive (Bristol), 9 Mar 04 09:51

I'll be there this year paul as the ol' health problems are getting better and a local caravan repair center have been helping me to fit and awning from a twelve foot caravan and making support brackets fitted to the gutter rail, it should be finished soon so i will camp on site. By the way clive a littleport acejam icould still be on for this year if there are any interested parties out there, not many takers last year
regards
brian

- (#9011) brian squire, 9 Mar 04 20:42

Brian, Fix a date and I'll be there.
Woodvale camping - public camping area I think was £15 a night. Camp on the stand with very limited/non existant facilities £2.50 entrance fee only. I think you have to be there on Friday to qualify but no one checked.

- (#9011) Clive (Bristol), 10 Mar 04 03:51

All being well I'll try to arange a time to meet outside the rally to we can all drive in together..

camping on stand !!!! there are mobile toilets around the area we park in & food, beer tents just over the runway, 5 min walk or 1 min drive !!

but check out the rally web site....

looking forward to August !!

- (#9011) Paul, 12 Mar 04 16:27

Many of the Mobile toilets - as the name implies - moved on Sat morning never to be seen again! Food stands shut down by 6 and the beer tent is not the place for youngsters, good hearted but very rowdy if you get the picture!
Long haul to a water tap, but not for drinking.
You could get a cooked breakfast though.
I was trying to explain not to expect much, bring what you need, and you would not be disappointed for the price. Can't be bad as I'm doing it again.
Good on you Paul! Still got the flag?

- (#9011) Clive (Bristol), 12 Mar 04 16:53

Yes the flag is still in my house ready to use..

Can any of you try and get Toyota banners etc from dealers..
It would make the stand look better..

- (#9011) Paul, 13 Mar 04 02:21

Has anyone managed to get any Toyota stuff yet ??

- (#9011) Paul, 31 Mar 04 02:04

I tried Toyota UK, ended up at the press Office, and they do not have anything for us, wot not even a poster I said, no sir you could try your local Toyota Garage. I explained I had and they, and that very nice man on the Isle of Wight, suggested I try Toyota UK. So no luck.
Anyone else managed to get anything?

- (#9011) Clive (Bristol), 2 Apr 04 09:15

Hi all. Me and my other half and one of the kids would like to come with our super extra and a friend with loads of ankle biters also fancies it in his spacecruiser. Another friend just bought a royal lounge and is fitting a new lump so will try and talk him into it too. Would be nice for us all to leave Stranraer together and travel in convoy and if anybody else coming down M74 could meet up around Carlisle and make the trip down the M6 look really impressive.

- (#9011) Iain, 9 Apr 04 11:00

We are going to come as well with our Royal Lounge and a tent and will camp on site. Will put my Townie along side the others so people can look at our Dream Machine (we think it is anyway) I like the idea of coming in convoy if anyone could let me know where and when I will try to be there
Best Wishes Joyce

- (#9011) Joyce Mason, 13 Apr 04 02:04

Hello there paul, just read about the woodville rally sounds like a great day out, never been there before, maybe you can help me out, if we pre-book it with you, there is only me and my partner and dog? how much would it cost? and how do i go about paying for it in advance, it sounds fantastic.
Sherrie

- (#9011) sherrie, 17 Apr 04 13:17

Sherrie, All,
Paul will ask for payment in a few weeks, closing date is 1st July. If you pay the £2.50 for entry to the show, you get your Ace and contents onto the site on both days, you get to park on the stand, and are still able to visit the rest of the show. Even lets you in on the Friday for setting up. The official line was if you arrive Friday to help set up you can camp on the stand for free, I did this but did notice that lots more arrive Saturday and camped up with no problems on other stands.
See you there.
Clive.

- (#9011) Clive (Bristol), 19 Apr 04 01:07
