(Home) Head gasket set part nos. and bolt tightening, 2CT, 3CT

Had replaced 3ct (witch is fitted to vw van) about
300 km's ago due yo bottom radiator hose failling, seem to have blown again. Engine have not remotely been running hot. Cylinder head was skimed and crack checked. There are no local manuals avaliabel and the Toyota agent only smiles. The inporter who suplied me the engine suplied me with the replasement h/gasket(pirate). He said the 2ct and 3ct uses the same gasket and torque of 40 N.M.+90 +90 +90. I am a sure that my problem lies with the inporters spares and info. Any one help! Can you suplie me the part number for the genuine h/gasket and confirm the torque.

Many thanks
Edward (Port Elizabeth, South Africa)

Edward. The CD shows a "head gasket kit". This is the head gasket and the two manifold gaskets etc. It's part number is 04112-64086 for 2C engines from 1989/91. The head gasket is not listed seperately.
However, there is a later type, laminated gasket, preferable for this engine, and my supplier had the part number as 11115-64170-BO.
The head bolt torque settings for a 2C-T are 44 N.m with TWO +90 degree turns. You mention three, with a lower torquing figure but, perhaps, this is required for the 3CT and someone else might be able to confiorm
