Hello All,

I've been combing the tomes of the Anser's site regading an overheat problem on my 1991 LiteAce FXV
2c-t. If I'd known about the site sooner, I probably wouldn't be in the spot I'm in now...but that is another story.

Due to tiny bubbles and burping coolant from the coolant fill pipe, and notable loss of power, I'm be replacing the head gasket. Luckily there is no water in the oil, but loosing good deal of coolant out the resovoir once engine warms up. Will replace thermostat first while waiting for parts, but do not suspect that is the root problem.

below is the list of parts I have thought good to order for the replacement. Can anyone recommend any others that should be replaced, or other work to be done while she's opened up?

Head Gasket set w/bolts
thermostat
water pump
cam belt/timing belt
rad cap
new temp gauge alarm
Engine manual RM025E
belts

Can anyone recommend a good supplier of OEM toyota parts who ships overseas, I am located in the Bahamas?
is the 5 year coolant necessary to run in our vehicles, or do you all find that the standard 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water is sufficient?

Very best,
Ron

That looks like a fairly comprehensive list that will cover it Ron. Try changing the radiator cap first though, its a long shot but you never know. Is the coolant a blackish colour? (that's a sure sign of a cracked head).

On the choice of coolant, anything is better than nothing. Toyota's own is the best and most expensive, but its nie on impossible to ship over seas because it is classed as a hazodous liquid.

Thanks Dave,

No off color in coolant or oil, hopefully the head itself is intact, will inspect when we get it off. Thanks for your reply, will keep posts coming w/pics as work progresses.

Toyota parts internationally? I think David Coombs, UK will do this - see Ace Answers - Parts button.
