Breakers. Can't be regassed. £80 a pair from BBC spares see link on Ace Answers.
Don't understand the two prices - they are both the same?

There is a place in Bournemouth, well Parkstone to be exact and they do regas struts at about £4- £5 each.

OK I stand corrected. And as always, attracted by far the cheaper option.

I had the same problem with the tailgate. I purchased s/hand units but probably due to the age of them I found that they only just coped with the weight & after 2 months they were as bad as the originals. Next step was to look at the possibility of regassing. I rejected this option because the loss of gas was likely to have been due to worn seals within the struts. I found a company that would manufacture new units and pressurise them to 30% higher than my weak ones for an estimated cost of £30 + vat. I have sent my units to them and expect the new ones within the next week. The original fastenings will be transferred during manufacture.
And yes, they are handed. The mountings to the tailgate top are rivited to the struts and are mirror image.
