(Home) She bone dry no more coolant leaks

hi all

just to say at last i am totally leak free , got down to the last leak yesterday.

i just spent £1000 on my cooling system getting her ready for summer , plus i had both rads re-cored 6 months back so really i spent £1350 to get rid of leaks this means the old girl will be with me for afew more years yet.

i had 4 leaks on my system and can get you confused if you repair a leak and still lose water,i kept putting a large sheet of cardboard under the engine at night and inspect the next morning,it showed me how many leaks i had and what position to look, the last leak took me afew weeks to find it was on a hose next to the block and protected by a metal heat shield from the heat of the turbo,i am now leak free,i know for a fact that i had some of these leaks for afew years and by using the cardboard i started to see a pattern, the last leak would only leak when engine was labouring and turbo got very hot.

i am on holiday for a week at easter and now look forward to the long drive down west with my family

i still got afew more jobs to do before we go,hand brake cable , sort out anti-roll brush , electric fan conversion.

Hello Dennis.
You seem to have come quite a long way since your RAC inspection. Well done

Have you fitted a mason Alarm? If not you still have time to before Easter, see Ace Answers.
