It is known that the pulley nuts can work loose and then the pulley comes off. For piece of mind, remove the crank pulley and inspect it to make sure there is no damage to the crank, pulley or woodruff key. If there are no signs of damage, then just bolt it all back on again. If there is signs of damage then you may have to reface the crankshaft and fit a new key and pulley.

Where abouts in Bristol?
Have you a torque wrench to do it back up with?
Happy to help and/or listen to noises.

These pulley bolts seem to work loose all too often and, if left, it's an expensive exercise to put right.
I use a simple locking device for the bolt, which prevents it unwinding. There are details in Mark's "Tasks" section.

Andy,

Get it seen to right away!
The longer you leave it the more damage will be done to both the pulley and the crankshaft. When you remove the bolt make sure it's not broken and part of it is left in the crankshaft. Get a new bolt and crankshaft key as both will have sustained some damage. If you don't use a mechanical locking device as has been recommended, then use a good quality threadlock teatment such as Loctite.
If your getting a Chop Chop noise - expect to replace the pulley as well as it's probably jumping the crankshaft key.
