Do you have climate control?

clive,

i have not got climate control , i had my ace for 6 yrs and this problem only in last 6 months and seems to happen more and more , it now happens every time i drive it now as 3/4 months back it might happen once every 2/3 weeks

I hope it is just the control switching that needs the contacts cleaning. If it is the fan motor it is a right cow of a job to get it out. Tried to get one out of a scrapper and gave up, well it was cold and wet.

Archives, Cooling & Heating, Heaters, "Front heater fan switch". I recall there was something about the resistor used to control the fan speed. Inside a duct. Can be replaced.

many thanks guys

I was hoping you would say that clive,i am hoping the switch needs cleaning and will look into that area before I end up pulling her apart, mind you the fan can blow at full speed now and then so it could be dirty switch or as dave said the resistor inside a duct i will look at the archives

Will now find, remove and check resistor
as i have also notice over the years my fan is not as powerfull as it was 4/5 years ago, could it be resistor breaking down ?. Soon find out - (#9692) dennis, 31 Mar 04 16:42

Just took out resistor and it looked like something had melted across spring's it had 3 spring's and each spring had 2 electrical connections and i think i might of damaged it by not handling the resistor with care,so my next question is,where can i get a replacement or new resistor, any part numbers for this resistor
