(Home) Radiator removal

Hi everybody,

Following my earlier thread about overheating on motorway runs, I decided to remove the radiator to check for blockages and fit an electric fan at the same time.

I have done all the hard work, to get to the radiator, and have removed the top securing bolt and all pipe fittings, but the radiator seems to be secured at the bottom and I can't shift it.

Any ideas?

Many thanks
Steve

A nut at each side from underneath. Look up above the steering rack and you'll see'em...

Many thanks David for your quick reply.

I've just discovered another problem.

I thought I would flush the radiator while I was awaiting a reply from you good people. Using the hosepipe, I ran loads of water through the top hope inlet on the radiator and waited for it to gush from the bottom. The water coming through from the bottom hose outlet on the radiator is blackish and from the rainbow streaks on my drive, appears to be carrying through some oil with it. Is this A.T fluid and if so does this indicate a crack in the rad somewhere, and would this contribute to the overheating problem that I have commented on earlier.
Thanks Steve

A/T fluid should be red, engine oil will be black :-(

Remnant of a previous h/g problem perhaps?
