(Home) Radiator that lays flat

Why is there a second radiator that lays flat?
What is it for? Is this the heater rad?

If this is not the heater rad, is there one on a townie and where is it located?

I want to make plans to remove all the rads and either clean out or replace / recore.

4WD vehicles have a secondary, horizontal radiator. No, it's nothing to do with the heater but is part of, and connected to, the overall cooling system,

Hello Steve,
all Townaces have air conditioning, and the heat exchangers are mounted horizontally under the front floor. As John says the 4WD Automatic have an additional radiator that is mounted horizontally underneath the air conditioning condensers. This increases the cooling capacity which is needed to deal with the additional load on the engine from having to carry the extra weight of the 4WD bits.

I thought that rad was to do with the AC, my Hiace has one with the narrow steel type pipes feeding into it normally associated with the AC instead of the larger diameter one associated with a cooling loop.

As Dave says, 4x4 Autos have TWO horizontal heat exchangers- the upper (a front and rear pair IIRC) being the A/C, with the slightly larger secondary rad under it.
