(Home) Toyota hiace

Hello
I need some advice
I spent 3 weeks travelling in a custom toyota hiace in aus last year. It had 4wd and a 2.5 td engine
I wanna buy one for roading around uk and europe chasing festivals - do I need a 4wd, can I convert a 2nd hand hiace myself for the same money, or does anyone know where I can buy an old one - I got about 3k, will that get me one, or am i better off with somehting else - I need relaibility, a massive stereo and room for 2 to sleep plus water and camping stuff etc
Ta ever so

Hello Paul,
I am prbably going to get into trouble for this, but I can do you a 4X4 Townace Royal Lounge for three and a half. Very up together and everything works, including the electric curtains.

Now I come to think of it, I also know of a Masterace up for two and a half and he might be up for some haggeling. If you want the details email me.

Think you would be very lucky to find one for 3k.
I have seen the odd one for 4k though
You could try the auto trader site weekly though.
The 4wd may be useful if you get stuck in a field - but there should be plenty of people to push a 2wd if you are chasing festivals.
If you are making your own, the site below may be worth checking

I think you will be lucky to see anything decent for that sort of money, I paid nearly 7 for mine on an M plate very low mileage, 3.0 turbo but in 2 wheel drive.
Mine is the super custom limited.
If you want a proper chuckle bus it might be better to buy a van or mini bus and chuck a bed in that, it depends on the amount of folks who will be sleeping in it.

I recently saw a lovely hiace 2wd 2.5 td super custom for £3500, it was a real bargain. So they are around at that money.

I own a very old Toyota Hiace which is still going very well, and has low mileage for the year, but need a spare part to kepp it on the road. Does anyone know where I can get a carburettor linkeage (its only a small part but I need it desperately) Any advice please?

Try Dave Coombs, Wight Motors, Isle of Wight.
01983405551. They supply Toyota parts by mail and are very helpful.
