i dont wish to apear thick but what does the little red button do next to the auto gear shift .just in case my injector seat is stuck !!!!!!!!

Don't touch the red button, only joking!
The button you are referring to allows you to disengage the auto box from P (park) to N (neutral) or reverse or any low ratio gears without having to start the engine, usefull if you have to move the vehicle for any reason without starting up, e.g. when working on the engine etc. HTH.

You can also use it when the engine is on to change gears if the gear lever won`t move. It`s an over-ride button. I have to use it occasionally.
