(Home) Central locking problem

Hi Clive.
Got motors installed in cruiser so we can have full central locking, but slight prob.
The link from the motor will not go in spare hole on lock, because there is no spare hole, please advise what I can do to get it working as I don't want to take it all out.
Can you send me a diagram to my e-mail address showing what to do?,many thanks for your help!
Cheers

Hi Clive.
Thanks for the quick reply,I had a look at diagram
Obviously they never left enough room for the extra hole on locks for the Spacecruiser,So I wondered if the main locks on townie is the same?,would obviously have hole for the central locking linkage from motor.
Please clarify if this is correct,if so has anybody got a set of front door locks from a Townie?
Many thanks again Clive.

Andy,
Don't see why Townace locks would not fit. The key barrel is separate so you can keep the Spacecruiser key. However is there no place to hook the the C/L control arm to or drill a hole into? The door locking button connection may be the best place. I did see a conversion using Ford solenoids, and I'm sure the connecting rod, which was made out of bent welding rod, was no more then 3-4 inches long.
Are you going to an Ace Jam perhaps we can put heads together?

Hi Clive.
I've had a look at the door locking button connection, and will have a go there, will let you know what happens!. Yes I'm at the Bridport AceJam,you gonna be there,if so we can put our heads together to try and sort it out,if I haven't done so already, when I have I'll tell you what I did, so you can tell anybody else if they want to do the same conversion!.
Many many thanks for all your help Clive.

Hi Clive.
You were right, about attaching door motor link onto the door locking button.First follow it down to where it attaches onto lock, right next to it drill a 6.5 hole (very tight doing this!,got to make sure drill bit doesn't wander),insert a special retainer like the one that holds the door locking button link in place, then insert the link from central locking door motor in to this,"Job done".
many thanks once again Clive.
