(Home) Front wheel bearings/fuel filter

I have a 4WD Townie that has two problems that need dealing with right now, one is the fuel filter priming unit needs replacing and secondly the n/s front wheel has definate movement both in longtidude and latitude. Firstly, I have located a new priming unit costing £45, does anyone know if I can get one cheaper? For the wheel problem does anyone know if there should be any play,(I have been told that 4WD vehicles should have)or should there be no play at all. If the latter is correct how do I make the necessary adjustments?

Sounds about right for a filter head. On the wheelbearings, they're taper roller and are adjustable. There should BARELY be play in them, if you can feel it it's too much. But don't go tightening them up either, preload aint so good. All documented in the archives but simple enough. Remove the locking hub then it's a locknut setup. 52 or 54mm, can't remember, but a hammer and punch work well...
