(Home) Sunroof wind shield

When i open the moonroof on my townace (1990 super extra td)there are two metal panels that spring up, should there be a wind deflector attached to these ? if so any idea where i may be able to get one ?

regards colin

No wind deflector.

so what are the metal faps for ?

I have no idea what there actual use is, I told the kids they were to make the car look like a pokemon!

Possible use is a visual reminder that you have left the moon roof open as you would not be able to tell from the outside otherwise.

I saw one of these at Brean last weekend and apparently they work like this. As the van cuts through the air, it creates swirling, turbulent air called vortices. These vortices appear right where the moon roof is which in turn causes booming inside the van. The two metal flaps interfere with the airflow and the vortices are created elsewhere, so no booming.

I still prefer my pokemon theory.
