(Home) Central locking fully installed on Spacecruiser

Hi Clive.
Many many thanks go to you for your invaluable advise!
Last time I wrote up on here to do with central locking I made a complete pigs ear of it!. So I had to start all over again. So followed your advise,
And this time,we now have 100% full central locking on Spacecruiser. You Clive were right about the door locking button connection,as there was enough room to drill an extra hole. Fabricated new links to the locks from spare door locking rods cut to length and bent to shape and fixed in by the same plastic retainers used elsewhere on the locks. Managed to adapt the mounting brackets in the end Hardest thing to do was wiring it all in. Where to route the cables, also to find cables right colours and length.
But apart from that everything is working ok.
Will see you at Bridport AceJam and let you take a look to see how it was done.
Also may send you photos to your email address if you like so you can see.
Many Thanks again Clive, your idea worked 1oo%!

Apart from headache pills what was the cost?

Hi Clive.
Well we bought spare van as donor vehicle for £200,
but if you go to scrapyard shouldn't cost no more than
£30 I would think for both motors from tailgate and sliding door. Had to adapt both brackets cut off same amount from each one,had to drill two new fixing holes in brackets, when fixing them in to doors, had to have front of motors sticking up,not pionting right up,but at an angle.Had to fabricate links to the locks, done that using spare door locking rods, wiring up wasn't too bad. On the whole I would say using second-hand bits you could do it for about £40.
We were lucky as we had all the bits already, but when I see you at AceJam I show you how it was done, looking at it now it was quite easy!.
Cheers Clive.
