(Home) Spares from smashed Townace

in response to people`s kind and sympathetic comments about the idiot that wrecked my townace, the recovery people aren`t fetching it until tuesday.if anyone wants any parts,i will be open to offers before it`s taken away.you`ll have to come and remove them yourselves.the 2.0 petrol engine never let me down, and still starts and runs.the tailgate, sliding door, all windows, six skylights and all interior are fine.plus a couple of wheels and tyres.i`m near nottingham, just near junc 25 of m1.i will turn a blind eye,as i`m sure the insurance company wouldn`t approve, but it`s a shame to see it going to a scrapyard for them to charge high prices.
let me know if u need anything, maybe we can sort out a price.

by the way,the insurance company offered me £1500 which should be a good start towards my next townie.it`ll be a diesel this time, not petrol, and something newer than my e reg.anyone know which year 3 point seatbelts were fitted in the back of townies?we have the baby on the way in 10 weeks,so we really need proper belts in the back, instead of lap belts only.are the diesels generally more reliable than petrol or not?

Hi Jamie,
I'm worried by this post. You can only do this if you have claimed the wreck for salvage. If the insurance pays you £1500 then the van becomes their property. If when they collect it they find that half the bits are missing, you could be in real trouble. Then you might find yourself on an insurance black list.

hi dave,
u have a good point.i sure don`t want that.i was just trying to help out a few other owners.i have had so much help from people here,i wanted to put something back, and of course recoup some of my loss.i only had my townie 3 months and i`m gutted by this junkie kid smashing it up.i will be back,of course.i`m looking out for a diesel townie,£1000 to £2000,so if anyone sees one anywhere, within reasonable distance of east midlands,i`d be grateful for the tip-off
