Hi Paul. I have a 1989 Royal Lounge 4x4 auto 2.0 EFI and on a good motorway run I get 28-30 mpg and in town about 16-18 mpg. However, my Townie uses Magnatex oil mixed with greased lightning oil additive and is fitted with a K&N air filter and Ecotec valve. With the air con and cool box on you can take a third of these figers. HTH Bill.

My god, sell it & buy a diesel. Almost the same performance, but at least we get 28mpg round town & 30+ on a run, we run with a/c running most of the time, so figures include alot of a/c. Plus you have the option to switch to veggie oil & be really green. I have to say that I am not disappointed with this MPG, especially as both I & my wife have lead right feet & the poor old beast does motor along a bit. This is despite being an Auto & 4WD model.

Also, if your a/c is knocking 1/3rd off you mpg, then it probably needs servicing, as it is probably not cycling in & out & the compressor is probably running constantly, this results in high fuel consumption & premature compressor failure. When did you last have the a/c serviced????

Regards Rob.
