My thanks to Clive . Dave and all concerned for a
brilliant week end please make the effort and
come to Bridport it will be well worth it

- (#11229) Dave Humphreys, 31 May 04 10:17

Hi Everybody.
Just to say I can't wait to attend my first AceJam,
Let's hope weather stays good,If not Me,Dave and Clive can start off a rain Dance!!,that should amuse everybody!!!!!!,what do you think Dave and Clive? you
up for Rain Dance?
Cheers
Andy Richards

- (#11229) Andy Richards(Bridport), 31 May 04 18:27

Rain Dance - is that like when the spanner slips, skin goes missing from knuckles, it is starting to rain and you,ve got to finish as the wife is waiting for a lift? Then yes I can do that!
Not that rain stops an Ace Jam from being fun, I'll be taking mu sun umbrella just in case though!

- (#11229) Clive (Bristol), 1 Jun 04 04:37

Thankfully Pat and Laurie have laid on a collection of gazebo's. If that's not enough there is always the pub.
By the way Neil, Penny says hello Milo. She is one excited girl, whooping and jumping round the room. I did try to say that before, but my always on NTL connection is more off at the moment, sorry.

- (#11229) dave Bright, 1 Jun 04 05:00

Saving any major mishaps I think you can pencil us in
Dave and possibly the bruv in law too
Cheers Paul
ps can we bring the dog again
I think he enjoyed the last jam

- (#11229) Paul and Carol Absalom, 1 Jun 04 12:02

There is a pub dog, and its farm land so as long as it doesn't help it self to the indigenous population, it shouldn’t be a problem.
- (#11229) dave Bright (Bournemouth), 1 Jun 04 12:49

Jeeze, Dave(Br)you make it sound so inviting. Free BBQ, lots of Townies to look at, kids having fun. Never mind the stories !!!
Wish I could be there, but living in NI, it's just too far and a week to late.
I depart for France in my Liteace, with my family, the week before. Driving down to Poole from Stranraer BTW.
But I will be with you in spirit. Offer at least one toast to us poor souls over here with the high insurance costs.
Anyone else in the Vendee at that time look out for a Blue over Silver Liteace, CKZ reg.

- (#11229) Stephen Judge, 1 Jun 04 16:47

I'm sorry your going to miss it Stephen, is this the start of a world tour? NI to Stranraer, then Poole and France! What time are you arriving in Poole? might get down to wave you off.

- (#11229) dave Bright (Bournemouth), 2 Jun 04 01:21

dave,
boat leaves at 13:55 on the 25th june. expect to get there about 11:30am - condor ferries btw.
would tour - if only !! mind you - it's halfway there - it did come from japan !
here's a thought - lets all count up our mileage, the number of years we've had our vehicle and see how many times townies per annum have circled the globe !
i wonder can is there any relationship to that and reliability - - - - ( drifting off into an obscure dream world ) - - -.

- (#11229) stephen judge, 2 Jun 04 16:31

Hi Clive.
You forgot to say that when skin comes off knuckles, wife nags for a lift, but the whole job then takes twice! as long to do.Also Dave tells me that you've been waiting to see a SpaceCruiser at an Acejam for a long time?. Well mate you're wait is over we definitely will be at jam,as I said to Dave, some of the body repairs won't be complete in time,Back quarters maybe done,so if anybody photographs it,take them from the good side!(ha!ha!ha!).
I'm really looking forward to meeting everybody and making loads of new friends. Wife will have to take it easy as she has bad ulcers on both legs.
I think she's feeling just like the Cruiser,in need of some
TLC. Anyway see you all the Acejam, don't forget to bring you're cameras!,gonna try and bring Camcorder as well as digital camera. Could broadcast it on TV!,
The first televised AceJam!.
and you never know we could end up like Del Boy and Rodney,THIS TIME NEXT YEAR,WE'LL BE MILLIONAIRES!!!!
Cheers

- (#11229) Andy (Barking Essex), 2 Jun 04 19:11

Hi Andy et all,
It would be nice to see the whole fleet, but hey those who don't go miss out! I've had a number of owners saying they will be at Brean with their Spacecruiser but so far not appeared. Any Esitima/Enima/Lucida owners attending, there will be one at Woodvale as long as Paul has not broke it again?
Hope Dave gets a wild boar or two to spit roast???
Clive

- (#11229) Clive Mucklow, 3 Jun 04 03:26

Hi All,
If its a proper pig roast you want instead of a BBQ, then it can be arranged! all the gear is at the pub so let me know and I will make it happen.
My neighbour has a left hand drive Previa and might turn up, but no Esitima/Enima/Lucida's yet sadly.

- (#11229) dave Bright, 3 Jun 04 03:55

Yo Dave(Arkwright),
There I was in my fantasy land and you drop in reality, wow pig roast, but won't that take a lot of effort?
As you know I'm happy to go with the flow and will be spending Sat installing Mason Alarms, and have to keep away from the smoke anyway.
Clive (Granvil)
- (#11229) Clive (Bristol), 3 Jun 04 04:16

Hi Clive,
its not so much the effort as the cost. A whole pig is a lot of meat and could cost £100. then there is the cost of paying someone to cook it. We could cover this cost by selling pork rolls throughout the afternoon to everyone else, but keep it free for the acers. I have produced some Bridport Ace Jam cards, aka credit cards, so that ace people can get free food on production of the card.
I can't get an answer from the pub right now, so I will try again later.

- (#11229) dave Bright, 3 Jun 04 04:30

Ok its not to late to organise a spit roast if its what the majority want, but the suggestion is to do a lamb rather than a pig. Pigs are quite big, around 100 Lbs in weight and will take nearly a day to cook. Lambs on the other hand are smaller, quicker to cook, and cheaper.

Pat is looking into it for us and should have an answer by next Thursday. If its what people want then I will have to give her the yay or nay then.
- (#11229) dave Bright, 3 Jun 04 09:34

just over 3 weeks to go, and the lamb sounds good, as long as theres plenty of mint sauce

- (#11229) Neil (torbay), 9 Jun 04 07:21

hi dave and all

we all felt very welcome at brean in our hiace and had a great time, so we are planning to come to briport with the caravan and the "weah babber"

see you all there..................

- (#11229) Jason Bamford, 10 Jun 04 14:30

Hello to all on the site. Hope you have a great time in Bridport, pity not to join you - once again weekend work requirements keep me away from that elusive first Ace Jam. Big shame. Will look forward to all the pictures and tales to come via this excellent resource. Happy driving!

- (#11229) Denise Brooks, 10 Jun 04 15:05

could not get to breen (work oops sorry for swearing)

- (#11229) eddie (pitsea), 16 Jun 04 11:42

Hello Eddie,
its ok to just turn up for a day or the whole weekend. You don't have to book as such but it would be handy to know if you have any food preferances for the Saturday evening food fest.
If you need directions then checkout www.townace.co.uk bridport page, and send an email to showmetheway@townace.co.uk
- (#11229) dave Bright (Bournemouth), 16 Jun 04 11:57

- (#11229) Paul and Carol (SWindon), 17 Jun 04 15:45

time off work booked looks like we will be there, kids in tow,se you there.

- (#11229) eddie (pitsea,essex), 18 Jun 04 11:07

Just over a week to go now, and I have arranged for a lamb roast. There will be a few burgers and saussages as
well, so if anyone would like something a bit more exotic, you will be best to bring it with you.

The ace shop is restocked with RM025E manuals and radiator caps, and there are still loads of decals left and bits of a broken townace.

See you soon,

dave Bright

- (#11229) dave Bright (Bournemouth), 22 Jun 04 03:53

I'll also have a few Ace bits, fuel pump-headlights-gear lever cowl(with small crack)-beaten up Hi-ace manual (same as the one on ebay)-Toyota parts CD plus some other bits. I'll also have some 20 litre tubs of alternative Diesel fuel at a special intro price, and yes it is TAX PAID.
Please no bids you have to collect at Bridport.
See you there,
Clive

- (#11229) Clive (Bristol), 22 Jun 04 04:24

Put me down for one of those please Clive, assuming it's cheaper than the 82p B100 hereabouts. I suspect it's only a matter of time before I want the recipe!

- (#11229) Dave Mason (Sussex), 22 Jun 04 05:08

me too please, anybody for kebabs......
