i have a just bought a g reg 2l petrol townace,and have noticed a burning smoky smell when accelerating hard .i have had it in the garage and the exhaust checks out ok and clutch doesnt slip at all.I think i read somthing about air con smells .
Has anyone any light to shed on this ?

Aircon smell I had was of a sewer rather than burning. Is it an oily smell or electrical?

thanks for the reply clive
its very much like an exhaust smell but as i say the garage said the exhaust was fine .I have driven it today and it smells fine ,i have relised that im holding my foot on the clutch pedal and am wondering if im partially disengaging the clutch causing it to slip
