just perchased master ace surf and im very pleased with it, apart from the radio cassette not working it powers up ok but no sound the amp seems to be getting hot.managed to find a replacement rad/tape/cd/ combination but not much luck finding leads that plug in the back anyone any ideas? will a ford 3000 radio fit it seems about the right size.

Doubtful Eddie, I've had problems interchanging units between different Toyotas so I can't see a FORD working without a lot of messing around with trying to match up wires and fittings. To be honest it's not worth the effort. The Toyota radio will only give you Radio 2 unless you fit a frequency expander (about £20). You would be better off replacing with a new non OEM unit from about £100 upwards. Less hassle all round.

eddie,

i have just had a second hand cd player/radio fitted in my townace and it seemed straight forward enough, although i did pay an autospark 15 quid for the priveledge.

eddie,
if you particularly want the original unit, i've got the one out of my lite ace as I have changed it for a cd. You are welcome to it for the cost of postage.
e-mail me if you want it.
regards
john
