(Home) Window motors

I've just got a liteace and have to admit i love them but haven't got the first clue about them!!! The drivers electric window isn't working and the previous owner thinks it may need a new motor... I'm wondering if this is something that can be fixed by any garage etc and whether the parts for it are likely to be fairly generic or if i will have to go further afield to get it done??? If that's the case- does anyone know where!!!?? Thanks! Anna

Anna,
Simple electrical tests can be done by any one, it may just be a bad connection, sticky switch etc.
The motor may be interchangable with other Toyota versions, don't know if there is a generic one?
So the answer is local garage should be able to pinpoint the problem but may have to order parts/replacement.

You should look at the message sequence further down the page with the title 'Please Help'. My window problem on my Townace was a dirty switch as you will see.

Thanks guys for your suggestions - I will let you know how i get on!! The cleaning of the dirty switch sounds all a bit technical but it'll do me good to give a go!!! Thanks again!
