I' just wondering what's that little red button beside the gear knob? Characters written are in Japanese, I can't understand.

This is to override the gear shift lock.
With the engine switched off, put your foot on the brake hold the button then shift the gear lever up and down.
Should you have a non running engine for whatever reason and you wish to move, such as onto the recovery truck, this allows you to do so.
