(Home) Synthetic oil

I have been using full or semi synthetic oil in my Townace 2CT engine since I got it. I used full as I had a barrel of it. I ran out and got semi-synthetic from ASDA on special offer. I now have another barrel of synthetic oil for Diesel engines.
Some time ago there was a posting suggesting that there were problems using full synthetic oil, what are they?
I also use chip shop oil as fuel, the normal blow pass of fuel will produce a sticky oil. This indicates an oil change, not that I have found this as my 5,000 mile change routine circumvents this problem. I suspect it only appears if you leave the change for much longer.
I know that when running in a new or rebuilt engine you should use mineral oil to enable the moving parts to bed in.
Any views?

I recall reading something from an 'expert' that if your engine has been used to running on mineral oil then you should introduce it to synthetic gradually by using semi-synth. As you don't know the history of the vehicle you have to assume the worst and that it has been used to mineral. I forget the technical reasons but they seemed logical at the time. I've kept mine on semi-synth since the start, mainly due to cost. Changing oil and filter every 3000k miles on these isn't cheap. The fact that they are being changed frequently means I don't have to buy the best all the time. Sometimes when she's been behaving herself I treat her to some Wynn's additive :-)
