(Home) Fuel blockage, loss of acceleration

townace overheats if we drive up a couple of big hills. this time though we experienced loss of power, which kept happening, just managed to get home. but now car wont start, any ideas? only had for a month and no manual and no clue.

Unfortunately it sounds like you have blown your head gasket and possibly damaged your cylinderhead, this is usually caused by a blocked radiator, faulty waterpump, t/stat failing or viscous fan failure. If you take the rad cap off and turn the engine over with the water topped up you will see lots of bubbles rising up which means that the head gasket is passing compession from the cylinders to the water jacket, the rapide rise in temp can cause the head to crack internally. you really need to get a local garage to tow it in and investigate the problem.. sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

When you say overheats, do you mean steam pouring out or just the temp guage telling you it is hot?
I'm trying to look for an upside from Neil's posting and thinking that perhaps the two are not connected. That the lack of power maybe a fuel blockage, blocked fuel filter, low fuel level and the system needs priming. Was this a garage sale if so take it back.

got the car towed to a local garage and they said it was a fuel filter and a fuel pipe. just picked up yesterday and seems to be working fine now. hopefully. yes did get from garage but they said it was a trade in so no come back. love the car just got to iron out the problems that are arrising. thanks for help.

Thats sorted the fuel, but what about the overheating?
