(Home) Services a or b

My local Toyota dealer in Rochdale quotes me £144 for a 'A' service and £234 for a 'B' service, which includes a new air filter, fuel filter (if available)and gearbox oil change for the extra £90. Includes parts. It's a 2L 2WD petrol, coming up to 50,000 miles, 8500 miles since the last service. I'm going to have synthetic oil.

Is it worth getting the gearbox oil changed? Couldn't find the interval for this on the site. Seems a bit pricy just for this. We're going on holiday in it though and I wouldn't like anything to happen.

Ok is this an injection Townace?
Filters and replacement oil for gearbox could well top £50 for Toyota items, so an extra £40 for labour don't seam so bad. Replacing the filters may make an inprovement in MPG.
The oil in my Spacecruiser lasted about 180,000 miles before the rear gearbox seal went and then I only topped it up!
You pay your money and take your choice.

That doesn't sound to bad for a main dealer full service, and changing the ATF is about on the money. If you get them to do it, ask them if there is any muck in the gearbox and if the magnets have collected any debris. This is an indication of ware in the gearbox.

As far as I know, not an injection.

Thanks for your replies.
