Has anyone got any workshop info on the 3Y-EU Petrol engine fitted to my Townace? dont care how small the nugget of info, either printed or 'word of mouth'! I can find NO information on it at all!

Main things i need to know

Cambelt? has it got one? I will be buggered if i can find it!

ECU? hasi it got one? where is it stashed?

Fluids/oil change

known faults/pitfalls

Thanks to all, If you have any printed material that can be photocopied (IE not on the computer) I will be happy to pay for a copy and post

There is an american site (two actually!) that deal with the "Van" as it was imaginatively called in the US - the part of that which will interest you is that it came with the 3Y electronically injected

Try these links and ask questions there - one of them has a manual on site!

I have a manual for the Tarago (australian version I think) which covers the 2y, 3y, 4y engines. They have internal timing chain rather than cam belt which in my opinion is much better. If you still need any info I will be happy to scan relevant pages and email them to you.

Tony is correct in saying that it has a internal timing chain and no cam belt. The ECU is located in the near side 'B' post behind the passenger seat upper seat belt mounting. I change the oil and filter, plugs etc in my Ace every 6 months or 8 tho kms. Known faults are the common problems with overheating which I am sure you allready know about.
