Hi, I'm thinking about getting an import hiace super custom, mainly for weekend hauls, and have just read somewhere that they can be prone to overheating and the head cracking. Does anyone have experience of this, and is it a problem of particular engines eg. 2.4/2.6l Turbo diesel EFI?
any advice would be much appreciated.

had a prob with a 3 ltr..........read of someone on ToC with a prob on a 2.8........
Mines a 2.8 which is cast iron head and block.....think the 3 ltr is all alloy and the 2.4 iron block...don't know about head though.....
Think it how well they have been maintained and driven may play a part.....not aware of major probs...but I would overhaul the cooling system on purchase for safe measure...
