(Home) New owner

Hi
I've posted twice before so you might be interested to learn I've just bought a 1986 Townace Royal Lounge 2litre TD with 2/4 wheel drive. Would be pleased to hear from any Townies in the north west of England or anywhere for that matter.
Loads of things I could ask so I'm busy browsing. However somebody has screwed a bolt into the floor underneath the accelerator which I imagine limits the amount of power I can apply. The turbo is cutting in at around 2500 revs. Is this about right?
I'm finding it almost impossible to make any reasonable progress on a gradient without the turbo cutting in. Is this normal? Should I leave this bolt in situ?
Thanks
Graham

Welcome.
Large brass coloured bolt? They all have them, leave it alone.
Turbo cutting in - does the green light come on in the rev counter at 2500?
Yes normal to drive with the turbo fully employed. In fact without it your fuel comsumption would rise.
Click on Ace Answers above and then on the Handbook short cut, interesting reading for a new owner.

2500 is a little on the high side for the turbo light to show, should be between 1400 and 2000.
Don't know how you would change it though.
As an aside the turbo does not kick in it runs on exhaust gas flow, the air pressure it produces is shown by the dash lights.

Hi Graham.

You wanted to hear from other NW Ace owners. We are the owners of a 1989 2.0 EFI Royal Lounge 4x4 living in St. Helens, Merseyside. Where are you? We have had our Ace for 3 years and are the 2nd UK owners. It would be nice to start a NW Ace Owners Club for Ace owners here in the NW. I often see Aces on the roads around the St. Helens area so I know that there are a few Ace owners here in the NW.
