(Home) Power steering

Thanks for everyone's advice on my supposedly noisy turbo last month. It turned out to be the exhaust manifold and is now sorted. My mechanic removed the EGR pipe at the same time and the effect of a non-leaking manifold and no EGR has transformed performance and economy on my Liteace (I was getting a little over 20mpg, now up in the high 20's and possible even 30!).
Anyway, while out enjoying all of this the power steering failed completely. These vans are quite challenging to steer with no PAS! Anyway, I've found a couple of relevant diagrams in Ace Answers and am about to take a look. Anyone had a similar problem and got any bright ideas on where to start?

On another matter entirely, the milometer packed up a few months ago, speedo etc. still working ok. I'd like to get it working again to properly calculate my new mpg. Any ideas beyond taking out the whole unit and replacing with a second-hand one,

Thanks,
Andy

Fluid loss or pump loss. First check fluid level and pump drive belt. If ok then suspect pump no longer working.
