As a new boy to Townies, can anyone tell me whether the Gear Selector "label" and heater control selector panel, should light up when light are on - mine are in total darkness and a bit of a fumble in the dark to find.(1990 Townace super extra auto diesel )

Cheers. At least I now know that I'm looking for something that should be there rather than searching for something that ain't there in the first place. If you get my drift !!

Gear select bulb involves removing the plastic cover
( ease out the curtain switch if fitted/ disconnect plug and remove/ undo screws around the bottom of the plastic cover(4 off)/ remove gear select knob/ the cover should then lift off. The bulb is under the selection display on the driver's side. Fiddly to get at. Old Bulb had a green rubber shroud over the lens - remove carefully and it shoud slip over the new bulb.
See Ace Answers for removing the front fascia panel - around the heater controls - take care when prising out the clips or the plactic will no doubt split. This bulb also had green rubber shroud.
Both bulbs are wedge type - to remove the bulb "holders" simply rotate about 1/4 turn and pull out.Hope this helps. Good luck. Only took me 1 1/2 hrs to do what should be a 10 minute job !!
