(Home) Push out rear windows

Hi all. I have a 1989 Royal Lounge with the push out side windows fitted on the off side in the rear passenger compartment. I want to fit a push out window in the near side slidding door for added ventilation. Has anybody done this? Is it possible to fit a off side window and rubber seal in the near side slidding door? I know the hinges etc can be reversed as they simply unscrew but will the window rubber from the off side fit on the near side? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Bill.

Toyota in their wisdom nerver fitted the push out type on the side door, only the slide type, who knows why?
Not sure if the aperture is the same size, or indeed if the glass is shaped?
Have you thought about fitting a sliding type?

If it was there & open it would get hit by the sliding door & presumably smashed, hence Toyota didn't fit one.

Whoops!!!! Sorry misread the post, must stop being so hasty, I assumed you meant where the rear opening glass was, not in the door. Yes funny one why they didn't put an opening glass in the sliding door, may be as I suggested it could get damaged to easily

As Clive suggested, you could try all the fittings & glass & go over to the sliding glass type, which is what we have in out sliding door & opposite window, the kids like this so they can wave goodbye, unfortunately not to us!!!!

Doubt its an issue of damage as they fitted them to the hiace supercustoms...maybe just a design quirk...

Wouldn't the handle for the window foul on the side of the van when opened?

Good point Ian.
What if it were fitted back to front and provides and air dam? The locking bit would not reach the door frame?

or put the handle on the outside .... :-)

Thanks for all your advice guys. I have been doing some measuring and have found that the off side push out window is bigger than the near side fixed window so my plan to fit a push out window in the slidding door is now out the window so to speak, however, I am looking at fitting the slidding window in the door. I will let you know how I get on.
