I replaced my cam belt a few weeks ago. I have covered nearly 2000 kms since then. I thought it was the wind sending me all over the place, and it was not until a bit of tight parking caused the power steering belt to squeal, did I realise that it was a loose belt.
I got underneath just to see how loose and found I could almost pull the belt off. As I was there I thought, I can see all the bolts let's see if you can adjust from here?
The answer is you can adjust the belt without removing anything, except for the plastic cross member that is fitted to my 2WD.
The moral - when you replace or renew the belt remember to do all the nuts up tight!
The pivot one was tight but the adjusting bracket one was not.
