First of all where do you live ? Are you taking a vehicle if so is it standard car or is it high vehicle (mpv etc)? Also what time of day do you want to travel - answers to these questions can have great bearing on best route available. I work with a haulage company in tipp once i know these details will be able to advise better. One last thing - how long are you staying ?

Iain,
I shall be visiting the Emerald Isle in the spring.
If you could give a few pointers.....
Townace 5 up (children no longer count as children!), going from South Wales to Cork area. Early morning, before light if it is that much cheaper.

Best route is Fishgaurd-Rosslare for both fares and closer to Cork. This is Stena sailing which goes either 02.45 or 14.30 and takes about 3hr 45m. It is cheaper to book stena sailings by internet and would expect to pay around £110 return for car and two pax with extra pax at about £12 each each way. Taking townie will be bit extra cos of height (higher than standard car)prob add extra £10 each way.Food on stena usually better than irish ferries (sailing from Pembroke) and their fares probably about £20-30 more. Having said that they do a (swift) sailing which takes under 2 hrs but is little mor expensive again. Kids become adults on 16th birthday !! There is also a Stena hss from Holyhead to Dun Laoire (i know ive spelt it wrong) taking under 2 hrs but leaves you longer drive on other side (i expect you know or have heard of irish roads) its like coming out of a time capsual and being back 30 years. (although ive travelled all over world in my job- and i still think Ireland is the best). Dont be talked into taking a cabin on any sailing as you really dont feel benefit. (by time you eat and explore shops etc you only get about an hour and half sleep- not worth it.)you will see people lying around decks and thats best idea-take pillow and travel rug up with you. If you use fishgaurd-rosslare you will be in cork after only around an hour and a half drive- well sign posted. Hope this helps IAIN

hi, had my nearside rear window smashed last week. I have a 1990 royal lounge, windows have a slight brown tint to them.
